Thursday night ramblings

I don't have anything specific to talk about...as usual, I have all these brilliant ideas for blog posts when I'm a: on the Muni; b: in the shower; c: neck deep in work at work or d: sleeping. Now that I'm awake and at my computer in a pleasant stupor caused by exercise, a glass of wine and the fact it's almost 9pm (I AM a wuss!), I gots nothing.

We're watching SURVIVOR and there's a gal with two piercings in her lips, one on each side of her lower lip. A guy named Chicken just got voted off. He's a chicken farmer. Hence the name chicken. Only saw the last five minutes of the show and already these people irritate me. Sorry, but Pearl Island and All Stars were the last good seasons. I even miss Johnny Fairplay... that's just sad.

I was walking home from West Portal the other day and saw a guy coming out of a 7-11 with a Slurpee. I haven't had one of those in years. Slurpees, slushees and icees (depending on where you bought 'em) used to be a huge treat, especially in summer months. i remember when we lived in Tucson during my 7th grade year and went to K-Mart on one hellishly hot summer day. Mom bought me and Lisa Icees (or slushees...) and mine was orange. Don't remember the flavor, just the color. I also remember it tasted like heaven, high fructose nectar of the gods. My favorite flavors were cola and cherry. I'd mix 'em together and...well, you got cherry cola, didn't ya? A slurpee and a package of Reese's peanut butter cups... Sigh. Simple pleasures aren't as easy to come by these days. Or at least not as cheaply.

It's bedtime now. I will shortly have three kittens patty-pawing around my neck and chin, purring madly and ignoring my attempts to pull a blanket up to protect my skin. It's the lot of a Momma Cat.

It's the wine. That's whats causing the idea drain. Will do it every time. Yup. Every time.

One glass of wine doth not an idea drain make. Two, perhaps. But one...nope, it's the kittens, the job stress and the kittens.
